Watch this So I've bought two watches to replace the ones I had. A gold tone watch (which is just like the one I used to have), and a steel watch. I'm wearing the steel watch at the moment and keep sneaking admiring looks at it.
Why yes, I do feel rather like a little on Christmas Day. Why do you ask?;-)

I really like the cut-out details on the steel one! No wonder you can't stop looking at it.

And here is my watch. I love it, but once saw a really old lady with too much makeup wearing it and wondered about my taste levels.

I quite like that watch. In my several weeks of checking out jewelry/watch counters, I've found I was often drawn to the Fossil watches.

Those are both really pretty.

Orange Swan, I'm enjoying seeing what you are picking out to replace your stolen jewelry and am glad you are having fun doing it!

I certainly am enjoying it. Before the last robbery, I had enough jewelry that I wasn't letting myself buy new pieces very often. And now of course I get to buy whatever I can afford. I feel like a sparkly-things-loving toddler set loose. Yee haw!

Nice! I just took delivery on this watch yesterday (be sure to scroll all the way down for the best pictures). Haven't had a decent watch in... well, ever, really. It has a nice heft to it that I really like. And I, too, keep sneaking admiring looks at it.

It just NOW occurred to me that cellphones are today's pocket watches.

A lot of people, including me, just take the phone out of pocket to see the time, just like in times of yore with pocket watches.

OK not the most insightful observation, even for me, but I had to share.

Heh, danf, that's the reason I finally trained myself to take my cellphone everywhere.

That's a seriously cool pocket watch, IRFH.

I do know people who don't wear watches anymore, now that they have their cells. I don't have a cell phone, so watches it was.

My watch is this cheapy little thing that I bought for like $20 ten years ago out of a discount bin at a watch repair place. It doesn't even have a clasp; the band links are stretchy. I've never had a problem with it (except getting the battery changed), and it's the only watch I've ever found that has fit my teensy tiny little bird wrist.

Support for Gays in the Military Depends on the Question || I was watching Leni Riefenstahl's film Olympia last night.
