YouTube used to be 15 FPS, but I don't think that's the case anymore. The first generation pass looks pretty close to real VHS resolution, to me.

If you're interested in tape degradation you really have to listen to The Disintegration Loops, BTW.

I think the Roxette video is kind of beautiful around the 12th generation.

I have some old figure skating tapes that are at least 3rd generation copies. Often you can see through the skater.
