Olympics TV Schedule. If anyone is interested, the U.S. tv schedule for the Winter Olympics is online now.
Curling's getting tons of coverage this time around. I pretty much fell in love with the sport in 2002, and look forward to it more than any other part of the Winter Olympics.
I love the winter Olympics. I love all Olympic games, except when they take place in the US. Because then the TV coverage of the live events depends on which Americans are in it, with no recognition that there is any other country taking part.
Can't wait for 2012 and the London Olympics. I watch the Olympic Park taking shape on my way to work. It's the best thing that could have happened to Stratford, which was in desperate need of regeneration.
Added bonus: they're also building a new Westfield next to the Olympic park. We would never in a million years have got such a retail development in the area were it not for the Olympics.
I love the Olympics. I remember watching the 1968 Games on television when I was a little girl and telling my parents, "I'm going to the Olympics some day" and you know what, I did. As a TV journalist, though, instead of an athlete.
I know the whole thing has changed drastically in the last 25 years and it's easy to take shots at what the Games have become. There is a lot of silliness and commercialism and all but there's still something really neat about watching people do amazing things I could never do, that they've worked on for years, against the very best in their field, on a worldwide stage.
Having seen the Olympics from the inside and as a fan/viewer, I still think there's a lot to admire about the spectacle and the pageantry and the athletes. So yeah, to me it's still very much something to celebrate and enjoy.
You don't want be anywhere near Vancouver during the Olympics:
The Ski-to-Sky Highway, aka: the only road between Vancouver and Whistler, is going to be closed to all traffic except buses. The mister says that every time he turns around there are more cameras pointing at you. Almost all on-street parking has been turned into permit only parking. Most of the parking in his building has been turned over to Games security personnel. A lot of his co-workers are being farmed out to satellite offices so they don't have to drive into work. Internet traffic is expected to crawl to a near standstill.
