International Eat Chocolate Cake For Breakfast Day →[More:]

Per Wolfdog's decree (can't find his original comment!) TheDonF and I had chocolate cake for breakfast this morning.

Last night I baked rich little choclate chilli bites which fell apart but were delicious.

Yay! I made my cake last night (basic chocolate cake out of a box with chocolate buttercream frosting), and coffee's brewing now. But I have a sleeping puppy on my feet so I can't go downstairs yet.

I just went out and bought a big chocolate brownie from the corner shop so I could celebrate Chocolate Cake For Breakfast Day (International)! I am not as organised or culinarily gifted as the rest of you, but I will participate to the best of my ability!

Oho! thanks, I'd forgotten. I've got multiple flavors of cake in a cup, so I can pretty much do instant cake. Younger Boy doesn't like chocolate, so he'll have vanilla.

Crap, I didn't remember until I checked MeCha when I sat down with my typical breakfast (2 eggs in frames, string cheese, soda).

I'll have cake for dinner! (And maybe some ice cream too.)

rats. I had steelcut oatmeal (with chocolate chips, cinnamon and brown sugar added for melty chocolatey goodness) that I made with my new rice cooker.

I am still struggling to get steelcut oats proportions figured out on this thing (waaay too soupy this AM :P) but it sorts out ok if I toss a smidge of rolled oats in to absorb the excess, then let it sit for ~5 minutes.

Wolfdog, you have inspired me. I am going to go to my favourite coffeshop/lunch place and have one of their UUUUUGE chocolate-filled (and dark chocolate drizzled!) croissants for lunch today.

Although I am inclined to orthodoxy myself, I believe we can be inclusive of quite broad interpretations of 'chocolate', 'cake', and even 'breakfast'. Chocolate Cake for Breakfast is, primarily, a state of mind; there are many more paths which lead there than only the most literal one.
