Can you make a piece of hard candy last, or do you have to crunch it?
If it's just hard candy, it lasts until it's gone on its own. If there's a filling inside ... CRUNCH.

I never have the discipline to make it last. I crunch it.

I crunch hard candy from the moment it enters my mouth. Sucking on it is for losers.

I can finish a box of Gobstoppers in under three minutes.

I crunch, but only once it's melted down to a teeny size.

The Tae Kwon Do instructor I had as a youth would give us Atomic Fireballs, but crunching them early would merit pushups. So as a kid, I was pretty good at not crunching.

Not so much these days.

Funny, I was just pondering this same question only moments ago.

I suck 'em. Unless, as Kangaroo says, there's a filling inside. Then I'll suck it long enough for the shell to get nice and thin, so it'll crack with the lightest pressure to release the filling.

I realise, having written this, that it's some years since I ate a hard candy, with filling or otherwise.

What BoPo said. When it's a thin sliver, then I crunch.
