When Should The Whelk Show Go Live? Joining the ranks of the Metachat DJ Squad so I can just go ahead and become my father. Doing a set on Thanksgiving Day, when would y'all like to listen?
Depends. Would your selection of songs be more 'whistling while you work in the kitchen' (no long sets of The Cranberries, please) or 'music to digest by' (with acknowledgment that you will not be reaching the habitual American Football viewers). Or would you be interested in a Black Friday selection of Goth Rock? Thinking of doing some T-day radio myself, having no real family to distract me, but I'll fit my shift between-or-following whatever timeslots others reserve. Anyway, anytime's fine with me.

I agree that it depends on the kind of thing you're going to play.

(Football's on teevee all day on Thanksgiving, but the only game that might be good is the one that few people will be able to watch (who the hell gets the NFL Network?) My point, I guess, is that I wouldn't let the football thing affect my decision.)

My loose idea is "Thanks For Nothing", music for people not celebrating. Loud and fast. Ironically my evening (except late-late) is booked.
