New Metachat Administration. Okay, kids, not everything is completely organized yet, but your new site admins are Boring Postcards and Miko, and your new tech admins are Chris Mear and gomichild! →[More:]

Arsey, dg, and iconomy will remain moderators, and I'll remain, but won't be moderating or setting policy. BP and Miko also have a list of possible additional moderators.

This is very good news for all of us, I think, along with other renewal/rejuvenation/bunny excitement like the return of radio, new emcee exquisite corpse projects, and some updating work going on in the Wiki.

Please welcome your new (and old) bunny overlords!

I echo BoringPostcards's sentiments. Except for the fact that I am quite pleased with my skeleton costume, so essexjan is still A-OK by me.

The significance of those figures is that they are trying to balance fire and water, which I suppose is what our new team will have to try to do here - stop us either from burning the place down or drowning everyone whilst avoiding electrocuting themselves in the process.

Nice choices! Thanks for generously stepping up to the plate, BP, Miko, chrismear & gomi, and deep gratitude to all admins past and continuing for your time and hard work. I'm glad this was all worked out so quickly and with a minimum of fuss while affording a reasonable period for member input. I can't imagine the time-eating morass of grar and handwringing it would have been otherwise. Actually, yes, I can, and I'm glad we didn't have to go through that.

We think the slowdown may have been due to this network connectivity issue at the datacenter. No real concrete evidence that that's the case, to be honest, but nothing seems to have been amiss on our server itself, so this seems the most likely candidate at the moment.

Great news! I'm glad that sturm und drang thread led to something positive -- I know I couldn't participate as fully as I'd like and it's great we have people stepping up to help. Thanks of course to those who did so much they are now in burnout.
