Ah, I bought the NYC liquid liner for 1.99 because I didn't want to invest in makeup that I might not even be able to put on without looking like a joke. It is pretty good though!
I spend money on lotion and powder and concealer and mascara (the things I use every day) and cheap out on the rest.

Ooh, and I discovered cream eyeliner the other day. Mad props if you can actually draw a straight line with it, but it doesn't matter - if it comes out all sketchy and terrible, you smudge it into your lash line and blend the upper edge a bit and yay instant non-overdone smoky eye goodness. Don't get a solid deep black color though, that way lies raccoonface.
