Let's go: Sunday to-do list [More:]

I am conquering tasks left on hold during a houseguest's visit. It's rainyish and cold here, so it's as good a time as ever to distract myself from crap weather and melancholy from the guest's departure.

1. Clean kitchen, dishes, counters
2. Get laundry in the washer and dryer
3. Fold and put away laundry
4. Put away clean dishes
5. Mow lawn (maybe not b/c of the rain)
6. Plant the five blueberry bushes my friend gave me for my housewarming present.
7. Make tea and read young adult books.
8. Clean bathrooms, including tackling soap scum in shower.

What are you going to do today?
1. Go to grocery store to return soda cans and buy fruit for the week (mmm, yummy fresh Cortland apples)
2. Finish two freelance projects
3. Read Sunday paper
4. Practice violin/viola
5. Do laundry
6. Type up fall schedule for music group
7. Organize and post Las Vegas pics

1. Finish a translation that I have put off until today. Procrastination! It's a very picky motion that gets into some rather nuanced areas of Brazilian corporate law (read, further crawling up one's own ass to inspect it in detail from inside your small intestines). Not fun.
2. Make stew. Hot yummy stew for dinner.
3. Eat stew and watch the next disk of The Wire.

I'd appreciate not being the target of your cannibalistic creepiness, msali. :-)

I've begun making chili, and when I get into the shower I'll be taking some Comet*, a scrub brush, and a bucket for rinsing. I'm sure that many people would freak out at the idea of cleaning while naked, considering the chemicals aspect. Which is why I'm using the less-toxic option.

I have decided not to tackle any of the outdoor chores today, choosing instead to stay inside, burrow into the bed with tea and read young adult fiction.

*Comet is KOSHER! Check out the last question.

I have like 2.5 hours to kill in Durham before heading to the airport. Should have asked if any bunnies wanted to meet up this morning for food. Next time!

Oh, man! See you next time, casarkos. :-(

- do the dishes / clean the kitchen (this might get pushed back to tomorrow)
- if the rain stays away, take the dog to the dog park
- take diego (the dog) to meet prospective roommates
- catch up on tv watching

ah, exciting sunday.

Try to organize my list into something manageable and not just a clusterfuck of things screaming at me that they're more important than the last. (My to-do list is currently running at 13 3x5 cards and a page and a half of notes about the things on the notecards. I've been letting a lot of shit slide as of late and it shows in a seriously bad way.)

I'm also being harassed by my mother to go over there and eat soup for dinner right after I get out of work (which I hate since I normally eat dinner late). I'm also still getting settled in my car and I really need to go do keys for it since I currently have a grand total of ONE key. (This is unheard of in our family. We have several sets of keys for EVERYTHING that has a potential lock on it.)

5. Bake lemon cake

8. Swiffer wet

10. Watch Glee
11. Go to dinner party

I have done none. I better get started!

I am conquering tasks left on hold during a houseguest's visit.

I'm on the flipside of this; I'm putting some things on hold to make an impromptu dinner for sister and mother. Because it's impromptu (and because I Am An Invalid), I told them it will be verrrrrrry simple: black bean soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, salad with pecans and apples.

Mom is bringing leftover chocolate zucchini cake; sister said "Ooh, let's have bacon!" I said "Great! You bring it! And cook it!" I am taking it as easy as I can, considering I have to lug my behind off the sofa.

So, to do list:

- make black bean soup done!
- zip out to neighborhood market for cheese and salad greens.
- pick up books, jackets, general detritus; tidy up minimally.
- clean bathroom; take bath. (I use a similar approach, Stew.)
- that's plenty.

This will be the first time either of them has seen the apartment since The Great Re-arranging. Now we're using the big back room (formerly the bedroom) as a living room, and the tiny front room (formerly the cramped living room) as a dining room. It's a huge difference.

1. Make bi-weekly Goodwill stop for books. So many good classics on this trip. Filled a medium-large shopping bag and added a surprisingly nice little print of a pensive-looking Twain. Total: $24something.

2. Organize bills and drop checks in mail in anticipation of forgetting to do it tomorrow.

3. Ensure father has reached destination safely. Because pinch-hitting for snags in international travel increases vicarious enjoyment and makes me feel useful.

4. Wash dishes, shower, or perform any task involving water, once landlord turns it back on... sometime soon.

5. See September Issue with mother; go to dinner with mother; go to coffee and possibly The Informant! this afternoon with mother. Take time to reflect and feel grateful to have mother, and increasingly good relationship with same.

6. Savor having a regular-workweek-and-weekend proper for the first time in forever. Daydream of time in as-yet-uncharted future when this will be normal. Use these thoughts to rationalize and enjoy having accomplished nothing useful with weekend so far.

1. Go to church
2. Run congregational meeting; get loan application for roof approved
3. Figure out grant application, send
4. Make applesauce
6. Grocery shop

5. Figure out what to wear tomorrow
6. Figure out what to eat tomorrow
7. Skim through the rest of season 1 of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" (it is a terrible, TERRIBLE show, and yet I find myself intrigued to know what will happen next)
8. Going out with kkokkodalk tonight to some sort of gala. Eat all the food in sight.

1. Go out for the paper and doughnuts for the kids.
2. Make coffee.
3. Do laundry.
4. Make the bed with the cozy flannel sheets.
5. Catch up with phone calls.
6. Order pizza (I'm feeling lazy today)
7. Ask everyone here how they cross off their lists, as I am an idiot and can't figure it out!

OMG I just thought of 4 more things to add to the list. This will not wendell.
I tried to hook up my new tv to no avail, and I feel like an idiot bc usually this stuff is easy for me. I might eat and sweep and try again later.
I also have to separate and then do huge mounds of laundry and buy new bunny litter, which I just did, along with groceries.
I've cleaned the kitchen and now should start either baking or sweeping.

Did everything but laundry and tv watching, because I still can't hook up my tv and I am very frustrated. Anyone want to come over and fix this?
