Hey, whatcha doing this weekend? [More:]NYC meetup. Blessing of the Animals (Twinkie will attend in spirit only; the last year she attended in person, she bit the pastor). Cooking- got a nice load of fruits and veggies at the market. I want to roast some brussel sprouts and do an apple crisp.
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass! tomorrow. Sun, good music, friends, food, beer, wine! Might work for a bit on Sunday, hit up the farmer's market. But just the usual weekend.

Autumn yard work. Oh what fun.

I think I'm going to just pretty much chill this weekend. Bought some good food to make, and I think I'll even make a lemon pound cake. Do some yardwork, lie around. You know, the usual. :-)

It's our 5th wedding anniversary today. We are going out for dinner tomorrow night. In-laws are in town. No specific plans yet, but will no doubt be heading out and about tomorrow and Sunday doing some fun stuff.

Tonight, watching the last part of the Ken Burns "National Parks" series.

Tomorrow, going to the opening of a Da Vinci exhibit down at the art museum.

Sunday, hopefully just hanging around the house, or maybe going out to take some pics. I'm ready for a lazy day, and our next couple of weekends will be busy.

Happy anniversary, gaspode and mr. gaspode!

Eating the Tim Tams I got in the mail!(!!!)
I love mail.
I love edible mail more.
I love edible mail from other continents the most.

Friends from the west coast are getting married, but have thoughtfully decided to hold a wedding party on this coast for those of us who are too damn broke to fly. So I'll be in Maryland!

Daughter's homecoming dance Saturday. The MrsMoonPie and I will drop her off, then go to dinner and a movie, most likely. Sunday is the Mrs's birthday, which entails some Saturday shopping (cupcakes!) a guided mushroom hike, and dinner at the super-funky H Street County Club.

Rocky Mountain Audio Fest today; dress up and SeaBee this weekend.

Some work (alas). Some cycling.

Taking an actor goodwill costume shopping, checking in on the set construction, attending a play, attending a fundraiser for the theatre, printing headshots and resumes for regional teevee commercial audition Monday. Housework, Football watching, intentions of gym-hitting, dog walking, paper reading, maybe try to score some low grade pharmaceuticals.

And I haven't a thing to wear.

That's a good question. We've talked about going to the movies but we still have the flu (the mister more than me, he's running about two days behind me).

Getting enough work done so that I won't feel guilty about taking next weekend off for MY BIRTHDAY!

I just finished cleaning my house. I need to take out the trash and recycling, which I'll do tomorrow when I go to the hellhole that is my parents' house for some bullshit dinner.

And sleeping.

Perhaps I should've finished my thought. I'm celebrating my birthday next weekend, but my actual birthday isn't until the weekend after that.

I love mail.
I love edible mail more.

This reminds me of something I'm doing tomorrow: sending a care package to my oldest niece, who is a few weeks into her first semester of college. Nothing much, just some fancy pens, pencils, and pads, some nice soap, and some candy.

Also:
Watching Dog Soldiers.
Baking bread.
Maybe inviting mom and sister over for simple dinner tomorrow night.
Making toffee to take to friends' house for dessert Monday night.
Starting an essay on the appeal of horror films (for a personal project, not for school).
Sorting out the closet. Sigh.
Doing some overdue paperwork.

Work tomorrow, then Movie Night with my sons. We've been watching old animated movies (heh, not that old, at least to me, but old nonetheless) recently, so tomorrow I think it will be "Hercules" and the original "Fantasia" (sorry deborah!)

Something on Sunday, the weather is supposed to be good. Maybe finish Halloween decorating..

Right now we're having an open mic at our community center and as usual I'm running the sound. I'm also waiting on some freegans to finish moving their bicycle workshop in to our basement.

Later tonight I'm probably going to get drunk on scotch while I watch Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Tomorrow we're having a professional story-teller at the street library! Then I'm going to the meta-meetup. Yay!

Sunday, I don't know...

2. Doing clean-up work with the Blue Ocean Society here in town.

3. writing press releases, beginning outreach and volunteer coordination, and putting the Dandy Warhols on continuous play.

Biking with a group o' friends from Davis to the 22nd annual Hoes Down Festival out at Full Belly Farm. I have a friend who might bring a tandem, and I could hitch a ride on that. Camping in an orchard! Celebrating the turn of the season! Riding back to Davis!

Tomorrow afternoon, going to the wedding reception of a high school friend who was married out of town a few months ago. Hoping there won't be many other mutual friends there, because those I know about are in (externally, at least) fantastic places in their lives and in fantastic committed relationships and although I am 98% happy to be happy for everyone, the other 2% is hell.

On Sunday, will try to sneak into better-than-the-$10.50-I'm-paying empty seats for Eugene Onegin, because hey, luscious gorgeous music, even if the plotline makes me wince.

Update: One thing that was *not* on my agenda was being locked out of my townhouse apartment w/o my phone, keys, or real clothing. (Was wearing bathrobe, torn thermals, T-shirt, flip-flops.) A kind neighbor let me use the phone but the po-po were too busy to send someone who could knock on my landlord's windows/gate for me; I tried yelling at her windows, but they were all shut tight.

I finally got in when the locksmith I called woke her up with the drilling. And of course had to take out $200 to pay them in cash. The upside is that had he been originally able to take credit cards like he said over the phone, I would had paid $85!

Whoops, I meant $85 *more*!
