Help me find a place to stay in NC?→[More:] I'm going to be in Durham from 10/16 - 10/18, just by myself. Anyone have recs for a hotel, hostel, etc. around the Duke campus area?
Will you have a car at your disposal? There are a few cheapish hotels in the area, I think for families of Duke students and the basketball crowd. Hostels, not so much.
On Tripadvisor.com, there are some good recommendations for around the Duke campus. Prices look to be about US$ 80-100. Maybe priceline would have something cheaper? I'd offer to put you up, too, but I am in Chapel Hill, which is just far enough away to make it prohibitive. Plus, after Cortex's recent visit, I realized that my husband and my son are a little bit weirded about the fact that I have 'internet friends'. Of course, Cortex charmed their pants right off, but my son especially found it really odd that I "just brought some stranger into our house". No amount of explaining could get it through his thick thick skull that Cortex is no stranger, more like a beneficent deity.
