What's that narrow pointy deal on a Swiss Army Knife? That's an awl.

You can use it to poke holes in stuff.

Some of 'em have a sharp edge, so you can also use it as a reamer. Some of 'em have a hole in 'em, so you can also use it as a sort of needle.
