Hello friends Tell me about something that is making you happy today.
Happy = absolutely no responsibilities this weekend, nommy takeout for lunch, delightful nap in my backyard under the fig tree, late afternoon hike in the redwoods, gelato.
I am happy to be an auntie. (No news here, just the recent visits by all ten nieces and nephews. I love those little beasts; they radiate sunshine and laughter and chaos and happiness and I want to squeeze them until until until wheeeeee!)
I am happy to have so much done by 4 pm that I can take a break with an icepack and the laptop.
I am happy that so many of us have things to be happy about!
I'm happy that the medical emergency with my brother last night turned out to be nothing more than severe dehydration.
I'm pleased that I'm slowly starting to figure out some of the dance steps from the paper we were given in class. If only I had any sense of rhythm, heh.
I'm so happy that we (by which I mean my sister) have finally sold Mom's house before it fell over. It had been on the market for over a year and we had to come down a lot on price and my aunts each get a cut since it was my Grandmother's house but sold is sold. Mom's in a managed care home that she loves and this will help pay for that and just not having that place to worry about will reduce everyone's stress.
Oh, and beer. (Erie Brewing's Misery Bay IPA to be exact)
I am happy my kids got back from camping a day early...I was starting to miss them!
I am also happy that I was able to get my fish tank all cleaned up today. Maybe now the fist will stop giving me the evil eye(s). Those Bolivian Rams can look pretty annoyed with you. Jerks.
One more...I'm happy that I was able to share some Pimm's O'Clock with a bunch of friends this week. AND it turns out that Pimm's is now available in Canada. So, that's happy news as well!
I'm happy that my little kid had a fun afternoon playing in the backyard pool. I'm happy that my hubby will come home tomorrow from a week in Spain for work. I'm happy that after Jack goes to bed, I'll have the house to myself tonight. I'm happy that my parents, sister, brothers and nephew are all healthy. I'm happy I have good friends.
I am happy that we were let into the theatre space where our show will open next week for a bit of on-site rehearsal. I am glad that rehearsal also answered some questions so I am less panicky.
I'm happy I bumped into my friend at the coffeeshop. I'm happy that using a taxi to move boxes across the neighborhood wasn't a disaster. I'm happy I signed the lease on my new apartment today and that most of the residents at the new place seem nice.
I am happy that in exactly two weeks, I will be sleeping deeply in my hard narrow bed in the left front upstairs bedroom of Andover Cottage on Cape Cod after the first very grueling vacation day of laughing with old friends and singing to my nephew and sunning on the beach and squeezing into the Four Seas for a tower of maple walnut and playing Satellites. Have been waiting two years to go back and could not possibly be anticipating it more.
I bought groceries yesterday! I'm also going to be seeing a friend in Baltimore soon, and I'll get to ride an Acela train again. I feel so fancy in those train cars.
