OK! Time for a weekend trip outta town, to get away from the Tokyo hustle-bustle! First, a short bicycle ride to your local station... hey! There's Audrey Hepburn! Hi Audrey!

Now it's time to hurry to the train...

You might have to wait for your train, say, two or even three minutes, but there's usually something interesting to look at while doing so...

So, you've boarded your local train, on your way to Tokyo Station! Mr. Platform Attendant bows as your train departs.

And now we've arrived at Tokyo Station. There's your shinkansen, and some convenient beverage vending machines, for your convenience!

Enjoy the scenery passing by, as the Kanto Plain gives way to the mountains in the distance, and mysterious men in black eye you from their positions in the fields. It's probably a good thing the train isn't stopping here...

Aaaah, and now we've arrived: the idyllic Japanese countryside. Rice paddies, temples, graveyards, it's all here!

This isn't very aesthetic, but I ought to include it... me on the Dry Tortugas, in front of the seaplane that brought us there:

Landing on the ocean in a seaplane is crazy. Heading down into the water feels like "AAAAAAAAAA! We're gonna die!" and then you don't, and it's cool taxi-ing across the waves to the beach. I love it. I've done it four or five times and I'm ready to do it again, esp. when it takes you somewhere as cool as the Dry Tortugas.
