Not again [More:]Just got an email from a friend of mine that I've known and loved for over a decade whose kidney is failing him and he's too exhausted to do anything but his job and then go home.

He's supposed to start dialysis in a week or so and he said he'll get back in touch with us then because his docs say he'll start to feel better then.

I don't believe in God anymore, but I do believe in mojo. Can you please send some mojo to my friend Chris at the University of Victoria in Canada, please to help him get through this week?

Thanks in advance.
Sending good thoughts to your friend Chris. Hope things improve soon for him.

Strength mojo, and prayers for Chris. I hope he feels better once dialysis is underway.

Dialysis is complicated, annoying and time consuming - no matter what variety he uses.

BUT

Your friend will feel NORMAL again. And, when you've been on a slow decline, chances are it'll be a shock to him to find out exactly how good normal feels.

My dad's kidneys completely failed five years ago. It was only when he started dialysis that he realised that he'd probably been on a slow decline for at least the previous five years and never noticed. He does dialysis at home Monday, Wednesday and Friday and it takes 5 hours each time. But it gave him back his quality of life. He's doing great. If he'd been younger, he might have qualified for a transplant, but you gotta go with what you got, I guess.

He's doing really well. Once he gets past the initial shock, your friend will too.

*hugs*

Sorry to hear of your friend's health issues, TrishaLynn. I'll send mojo to him from where I live, just a couple of miles away from UVic.
