For the record...That "banned German Sprite ad" is neither banned, by Sprite, nor from Germany. Nope, you can place the blame hip Brooklyn directors. (The ad itself is totally NSFW and rather gross). This has been a public service announcement from your resident adnerd.
that was a horrible ad.

it's a piece of sh********* is what it is. Apart from the idea being beyond crummy the production values are shoddy.

No words. Except, damn people, have some class. And get a room.

I like this ad because she sucks a dick, but she thinks about Sprite -- it's just like how whenever I suck a dick, I think about Sprite. And it's integrated!

Plus I don't believe the companies represented in these "filthy web commercial" stunts are all that upset; they can deny their involvement to anybody who's offended, but they'll still get a few people to think about Sprite while they suck a dick. Win! Win!

A raunchy ad can be okay if it's clever, to me. That was just dumb and juvenile.

(And you're right, dabitch, the production is poor, too. Horrible lighting.)

There's another one out there I stumbled across today of a couple during foreplay, then it turns out the guy is thrusting himself at a giant can of sprite...and you can guess what happens.

WTF. Who knows how many other variations on the theme are out there. Stupid stunt ads.

Yeah that one was directed by the same dude, and AFAIK he only made those two.

It makes me want neither a Sprite or a BJ.

The subtlety of the iconography was scant.

If you believe that any publicity is good publicity then this is an A+++ winner. I'd never heard of Greencard Pictures before today but this thing is all over the Internet now. That "banned German Sprite ad" was nothing until everyone started posting about the fact that it was a fake. If Greencard Pictures pictures gets one new client from this then I bet it will be a winner of a publicity stunt.

Our outrage is their profit margin!

Well, Greencard pictures want nothing to do with it. Greencard Pictures does not endorse that fake "banned" "German" soda pop advertisment

Honestly this Max guy seems to have either a screw loose, or he's just one clueless, reckless dude way too full of himself. "SPECA WORK" is not a synonym to "PARODY" and anyone in this biz knows not to mess with trademarks in this manner. The email he sent out seems... Well, either it's faked, or full of bullshit because he thiks ignorance is a legal defense.

copy-pasting my own comment here -

Wait hang on, I want to show y'all what a GOOD spec ad should be like.

Russel Bates - Clown Killer

See? SEE? That's the way to do it. The ad is clearly well shot, well paced, well lit and well edited. The talent are running with their roles showing off their skills. The idea is hilarious and no trademarks were harmed during the filming of the ad. Russel even managed to bang it together in a very short time at the end of a real shoot, so there was no need to spend his own cash putting it together.

That my friends, is how it's done. I'd call Russel for a job in a heartbeat.
