I'm back! From nearly two weeks spent in Santa Barbara, Germany, and a short trip to Prague. What have I missed?[More:]
Y'all missed:

1) Getting felt up by airport security in three different countries,

2) My epic fall off of a Segway, which has resulted in a nasty and probably-infected leg scrape,

3) The debate about whether the "K5 Relaxation Spa" in Prague is or is not a brothel... (answer: it is!)

Final thought: Germany beer is probably the best beer in the world.
Santa Barbara, California?

(One of the places I've lived.)

Well, Nuke is scared, 'cause his eyelids are jammed and his old man's here. We need a live... is it a live rooster?.... we need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose's glove, and nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present. That about right? We're dealing with a lot of shit.

OMG! MICHAEL JACKSON DIED. I bet you didn't hear about THAT.

Belgian beer is the best beer in the world.

I ACTUALLY DIDN'T until a few days into my trip - my friend told me and I was like, "No way!" and he said, "I read it in the paper and saw it on the news!" and it turned out he was right.

I also didn't hear that Billy Mays died until just now.

Also, Steve McNair. I was two days late hearing that one. Oh, and Sarah Palin. (Not dead-dead, just politically dead. Or politically shrewd. No one really knows yet.)

What Wolfdog said.

Also, Steve McNair? 20-year-old mistress, murder/suicide? Wow.

And Oscar Meyer. And Farah Fawcett. And Ed McMahon.

Oscar Meyer?

Yes, Oscar Meyer, of the Wienermobile. I am sorry that I am the one to have to break this to you mudpuppie.

I'm with you, pups. I'm a little surprised Oscar Mayer was a real guy. Here's a brief obit. I'll never hear that jingle the same way again.

Wow, Oscar Meyer. I hum/sing that song all the time, I think it's a comfort thing. I dunno. Anyway. Wow.

My surprise wasn't so much that he was real, or that he died. I thought deborah was adding him to the list of people who had died in the past week, so I was surprised that I hadn't heard about it. But she tricked me -- tricked me! -- by citing his death a mere two hours after it was reported. Tricked!

So I'm no longer surprised. He was old and full of nitrates. Clearly, it was his time.

Before I died I made those little wieners
They were popular most certainly (ly-ly)
Don't bother with my suit from the dry cleaners
They can now just make some out of me.

Don't blame me; it's danf's fault!

*huddles in corner, rocking back and forth, humming the Oscar Meyer song*
