Me, I've had ups and downs since last we spoke but the point is that I've been playing guitar for about four hours a day for the past year, really woodshedding, and I propose we lace some tracks together if you're still up for kicking a bit of the jams now and then.

I guess by now you're out walking around without assistance, hope your leg's all better. Man, it's good to hear from you, like a long lost cousin.

This weekend while I was walking in Astoria and down at Rainey Park (just below the Costco) I witnessed a twelve-year old kid dump off his bike into the guardrail separating the hill from the East River. Big gash above his eye, I jogged over, calmed him down, gave him first aid, called an ambulance, then his aunt, told him when he asked if he'd have a scar that if he did it would be a small but distinctive one, girls will ask about it someday, he'd be fine. He was cool, laughed a bit, though I could see how uneasy he was with the whole thing. Then after the ambulance took him away I suggested to his aunt that she get him a helmet.

That's about the most exciting thing I've done recently (in which I'm the protagonist, anyway). Long live friendship!
