License plate game [More:] You know the game, I presume - the task is merely to come up with a standard English word that contains the given letters in order (not necessarily consecutively). For instance, 'spiderweb' would be a good solution for 'pwb'. These can all be done without resorting to proper names.

1. bzu
2. cxp
3. fyc
4. gvh
5. kdv
6. ksb
7. npx
8. nzu
9. ppj
10. sxc
11. tlq
12. uax
13. vdw
14. vpv
15. xfg
16. ysq
If you want a bonus, I rejected 'dcx' as too difficult because the only word I could come up with, although short, was a bit technical.

s/k are in the wrong order for 6. Your solutions for 7 & 8 aren't the ones I had in mind (which are more common nouns) but are quite clever.

Not exactly a standard English word, but I'm bad at these games.

your 's' and 'k' are still the wrong way 'round for 6, plinth.

11. antiplaque? That might be hyphenated.

Your #1 and 13 are precisely what I had in mind, box, and your 11 is good but there is a more common solution for that one.

Hmm. What's still left?

Still untouched:

This sex and violence article leaves me disappointed. || So who wants to have lunch with me in midtown tomorrow (Tuesday) round noon?
