My latest WTF moment. Last night, I watched Dogma totally clueless of its writer, director and principal characters. So, after Bethany's incident with the roller punks and the camera turns to her heroes for the first time, "WTF!" It was a truly wondrous moment to experience.
Ha! I liked that movie a lot.

Ha! I just started a comment elsewhere with "Ha!" and I hadn't yet read your comment yet. This is a sign.

I love that movie. Glad you like it too.

That would be an awesome surprise! But, I hope to see them in everything. I'm such a fangirl I have a Monroville Zombies" hockey jersey.

Dogma was mostly filmed here in Pittsburgh so it's fun for me to pick out the landmarks posing as somewhere else. The Mooby board room was filmed in a conference room at a Carnegie Mellon research building. When I was in grad school there a few years ago I had some team meetings in that room and there was still some fake blood on the walls that they hadn't painted over.

I own that one. All so true, so true.

Oh and zombies are the only good thing that ever happened to Monroeville. It's a horrible ugly mess of strip malls, big box stores and car dealerships.

"I own that one." - Oh? We could spend hours picking it apart then! That script is brilliant.

I think I have to go back and watch Dogma again. So many people whose opinions I usually agree with like it, and it just didn't do it for me. Hrm.

Actually, I'd totally forgotten about them from "Clerks" so when the movie audience shrieked in delight when they appeared, I was like, "huh?"

What a treat to see Dogma for the 1st time.

theora55: Also, my first Kevin Smith movie over all. I only knew Jay & Silent Bob by reputation and a few photos. This was a totally out-of-the-blue experience for me.

That movie opens with a shot of the exact spot I chose to relieve myself before going to a concert in Asbury Park the one and only time I visited there. I snarfed on my popcorn.

My favorite bit is Jay explaining their master plan: "We could live like phat rats if we were the blunt connection in Shermer, Illinois." Only he says it like, "Shoimer Illinoise."

The Jay part in Dogma is extra-interesting to see as Jason Mewes relapsed into heroin addiction during the shoot - Kevin Smith's blog posts about Jay's addiction (and its effect on his films and their friendship) are here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

I've watched it once and enjoyed it; need to watch it again.

I remember that being posted on Mefi, goo. It's a very good read.
