On the one, we see an unfolding of trust, as the wee hedgehog "unfurls" in the warmth and comfort of the owners (?) hand. A powerful image, invoking deeply-held notions of filial piety, growth, even love.
But look deeper, and a darker, more unsettling image develops - one of helplessness and totalitarian control.

The hedgie, protecting itself, curls into a ball in the first frame. Sensibly, as it anticipates predators. But, even this cannot hold out against the pressure of survival.
It peeks out shyly to observe the threat level, and realizes in horror it is being held aloft! Several feet above the earth, it's natural home, by an invasive species that towers in bright-eyed stupidity above!
This is a brilliant take on the master/slave relationship, one that suffuses the modern condition.
The use of a baby hedgie could not be more damning.
Will the hedgie run free? Will it know the earth again?
We as viewers are as trapped as this poor animal, forced to admit in five frames of our blind imperialism and abuse of the natural world.
