On the eve of Easter, once again the animal world reminds of the power of three, of trinity, of the tri-partite universal mind.
What we see here is both the proximity of the divine, and man's resistance to same.
Of note:
there is no distance between the three bunnies, only an obvious interconnectedness, a shared state of being that reflects the inherent holiness and mystery.
And yet, also the presence of the Old Testament God is immediately apparent in the scowling, squinting, nay, disapproving paternal lapine stares.
The motif here is one of Final Judgement, with only the soft fur of absolution to prevent us all from being consumed by holy fire in the presence of the divine.
Who among us can stand alone when visited by such a tableau?
Who among us would have the steel to admit that within us all, we have raised the fine-edged sabre of Judgement high over the heads of others?
