BP & mygothlaundry in Atlanta! I got to hang out and have dinner and beers with MGL and some of her friends here in Atlanta on Monday night, before they all went to see the Pogues (I was invited but couldn't go, %^#$?!).

We had a great time and a decent dinner, though! Also, beer. My pics, her pics.

Ah, Manuels! Where everyone knows your game. Or did at one time. Is it still the journalist/liberal pol hangout that it once was? Just sitting at the bar during happy hour was an education. One of the few places where an ordinary person could have some actual influence, even while sloshed.

YEAH! It was a complete blast. I need to go on sudden 36 hour road trips more often. I mean, BoringPostcards, the Pogues, lots of beer and Zoo Atlanta where they have OMG BABY PANDA! It was awesome and the Pogues, btw, were fantastic. Shane looked great. Either he's dying his hair or he's got a portrait tucked away in the attic. Or he's living on the blood of young virgins a la Keef Richards, I don't know.

Thanks, dano, yes, newish glasses. I gave up on contacts last summer sometime when it got to be too ridiculous to have to wear reading glasses with them - I have managed to be both ridiculously (-8) nearsighted and farsighted at the same time. So, it's glasses all the time again now, just like it was from age 6 to 15. But I like these; they have rhinestones on.
