This Thread Is For Sentences That Would Have Been Gibberish 20 Years Ago... [More:]

Please either:

a. write a sentence that makes sense now but would have been incomprehensible in the 80's, or:

b. make a future sentence that will only make sense 20 years from now.

Example: I got your Tweet on my iPhone but when I Googled you, it was all fuxxored and I got a 404.

Total derail, but sorta relevant in my head.
ME: Email it to me.
HER: It's not digital.
ME: Scan it.
HER: How?
ME: Take it somewhere to be scanned then.
HER: That's too complicated. Can I fax it to you? What's your fax number?
ME: I don't have one.
(Both sigh.)
HER: Should I drop it off?
ME: That seems like a pain in the ass. You're across town.
HER: Well, I'll just put it in the mail. You'll get it tomorrow.
ME: Yeah, okay.

Are we friends on Facebook? I can't remember. I'm sure we have contacts in common -- if not, just do search for my name.

If by gibberish, you include speech that would have got you a one-way ticket to the psych ward:

The Secretary of State for the last 4 years was a conservative black woman serving a Republican president. The succeeding president is a black man whose strongest opponent during the entire run was a former First Lady.

The world is on the brink of depression due to rampant residential mortgage foreclosures in the United States.

Plox for tweeting that YouTube mashup w/ Gov. Schwarzenegger and Obama -- I thought it was a Rickroll, but then I lol'd.

(Not that I'd ever say something like "plox", but hey, it's possible)

That Youtube mashup went viral, and now they're even playing it at MSM places like Fox.

Even the best antivirus and firewall software with up to date definitions can't reliably protect against things like phishing and socially engineered viruses and trojans.

I stop now.

OMG, I'm sitting here on the train, browsing Facebook (lucky I changed from IE to Firefox, or I'd be bombarded by pop-ups - that greasemonky script you posted to MeFi is great, BTW) and listening to some new mp3s I downloaded from iTunes last night. I tried to Google that new add-on for Firefox you twittered about, but the site is 404. Can you e-mail me the address - I'll check my mail later on my phone and text you if it works for me. Is there a link to it on your blog?

OK, more than one sentense, I know.

1. You need start thinking outside the box and embrace the new paradigm of organizational synergy here.

2. This mission-critical function is win-win as you bring value-added solutions and resources that leverage your skill set and exploit your core competencies.

We actually have a mail room, but it's integrated with shipping/receiving. We also use inter-office envelopes. They are totally old-school but how else can the Benefits department transmit sensitive info? But yeah, we only have 3 secretaries and 3 clerical staff for 100 employees.

We have not only a mail room in the building, but a separate mail scanning facility in a separate location, where all our mail is x-rayed, sniffed and probed for suspicious contents before it even gets to the mail room. Who in the '80s would have thought it wasn't safe to open your own mail or that courier deliveries would be banned unless previously cleared with security?

Yep, we have the same setup here. If you get a large package or envelope, it's stamped "X-RAYED" by the time it reaches your desk.
