WOOOT! 206 lbs. with clothes on! →[More:]
I have to crow about this achievement. 2 months ago I weighed 225 lbs. Tonight, 206 with clothes on.
I came back from Vegas in October weighing 255 and today I was 235, so you got a big jump on me. Congrats on that. Some fatty-activists try to claim that losing weight has no health benefits, but try telling that to my ankles and my knee.
I myself am 15 lbs lighter! I'm quite proud of that, though it's due to sadness I'm going to do my darndest to keep it off!! Living well is the best revenge ;^).
Wow, fantastic, LT! Last year has been such a bad year for us... both of us gained a bunch of weight. We can't quite reconcile that we're terribly middle aged (past, actually) and can't eat/drink like crazy people without paying the price.
Need to diet NOW. Right after the pasta I have planned for today. :/
I've lost about 15 pounds but with all the family-related stress right now I can't push down below the magic 250 barrier. Not good for my diabetes. Bike riding is just around the corner, though!
You know, I was going to say that you looked in the photos taken at the beach that you seemed to have lost weight (compared with you in a little video you posted a while back) but as I myself am so sensitive about weight issues, I thought better of it. Well done you!
I am heavier than I'd like right now, but am back on low/no carbs.
Well, I don't know about the Metric system in Pounds, but before the accident, I weighed a gainly 85 to 90 kg for my size (5'7"), which was huge by any standards... I told myself I'd grow thin finally, sometime but it never went away... until the accident happened, and I was rolled into the operating theater.
By the time I got into the INCU, my mom says I was almost skin and bones.
By the time I got out of the hospital, and home, my weight was what it should have been, and it still is... three months on... 70 kg.
I take a look at it every day, and don't let it go over 70.
gaspode, you're so cute: I bet you look still gorgeous even with your Baby Weight. And aren't women allowed to have extra weight sometime in their lives--come on... :)
Taz, there is no amount of weight that would look not good on you, no matter what you are, you're awesome. Period.
And Essexjan, I saw those photographs of yours when you were in NY, so I know how good you are... especially with the haircut and the Glasses, I think you were wearing glasses in that one.
I appreciate the congrats, peoples. I went to my doctor two months ago and they said I was 50 lbs. overweight which is the most I've ever been in my life I think. Scared me into action.
Plus, a great side effect of exercise is this:
For you ADD kids out there, it works like Ritalin does. You get a clear, focused, head for a few hours afterwards, and that alone is reason enough to keep your ass on a treadmill every day. For me, anyway.
I'm just starting the journey to weight loss, myself. I've been holding steady at 250, have been as low as 210 in recent years (like, 8 years ago), but would really like to get back down to 225 again (I'm 6'5"). 210 was too much work to maintain--hitting the gym 4 times a week for intense cardio, watching every single bite, so I don't think I'll be seeing that again, but my blood pressure is too high and my clothes are too tight.
The phrase "fatty-activist" seems unneccessarily (and probably unintentionally) derisive. I don't want to derail or start an argument, but as someone who considers herself body-positive and perhaps even a member of the fat-positive community, I feel I should to speak up.
I started in November and am down to 184 from 215. I am most proud of two things: (1) I have no love handles - if you try to grab me by the waist, there's nothing there (2) I put on my pre-fat pants and they are (a) not in style anymore (it was that long ago) (b) they don't fit; they're too big.
My goal is to lose another 10 pounds of fat and then put on 10 pounds of muscle.
