Please laugh at my weekend please! And, post your own wierd weekend stories too![More:]
Something went wrong with something I ate and I wound up with the sickies from both ends. Not too bad, but yucky. It was much better by Saturday afternoon.

I had volunteered to pet-sit for a friend. So, I trundled myself over there. May as well feel bad there as anywhere.

Got there and took most wonderful doggie out for a puddle-walk in the back yard. Could not get back in the house. Seems the storm door had locked behind me. How, I have no real idea. I had no key, and there was none hidden outside since that was the one I used to get in. No phone, no car key and it was dark and raining and I found no other means of non-forced entry. Of great fortune, there was a gas grill with it's tools nearby. After copious prying, I managed to pop open the storm door. Thank goodness for aluminum being softer than steel!

On the way home the next day it was still raining. I was stopped at a red light and a lady rear-ended me. Big Sigh.

I must shake my head and laugh... Please tell me it was a full moon here or something. At least, I'm now so looking forward to spending the week at work - clearly I should not be left to my own over weekends!
My Sunday was spent working on some grants for my youth program. The organization that the youth program works under was also doing its annual reports. My team and I were done around 5pm, but one lonely person was doing the bigger organization's grants all by herself. I went and got her food, and helped her out a bit. In the end, it was 8:30, and she asked me to take on another little bit of her grant, and I said, no and that I had to go. I felt bad because she was likely going to be there all night, but it wasn't my job. There should've been someone there to help her, but they were not there. She was upset with me, but this is why I wouldn't want a higher administrative position. Those kinds of hours are normal, expected, and I am a bit tired of it.

(It's not that funny of a story, actually.)

I have no desire to rehash it, because I complained about it so much to my wife already that I'm even boring myself now, but while my weekend wasn't as bad as yours, it was a nonstop cavalcade of work-related suck with limited responsiveness and a smattering of passive-aggressive whiny bitching from coworkers. SHighlights were not leaving the office Friday night until 11:00 pm and not getting the security permissions I needed to do my extra work Sunday until four hours after I needed them.

So yeah, must have been something in the air.

I had an all-around great weekend away upstate at a b&b with the bf, but the beginning of it was strange.
We called the car rental place (Enterprise) to come pick us up and they said they would but that it would "be a little while," so we went into a nearby restaurant and had lunch. And waited.
And waited.

2 hours later, they hadn't come, called (they had our cell), and the office had closed leaving us with just the voicemail.
So we took a taxi to the nearest train station and took the train.

But come on! What if we hadn't had the train option? They just totally stranded us.
I want to write them a mean letter, but I am not good at writing mean letters. Will you all help me?

At least you got to go out, which doesn't sound like a lot right now, but believe me--you'll miss it if it were ever gone, so be happy with what you have (and I'm sorry for giving you such crappy advice)--and smile. You had a better day than most of us, hopefully (not).
