hahahaha! some inadvertant humor from the candy rack at the store.
:D y'all have some weird candy bars up there. I have to admit I laughed when I saw Dime bars in the Heathrow airport. Guess they coulda had a Stopona bar in the next bin.
hadji, actually, you might be interested in this. at one of my corner stores (and in the Northeast of the US, many are operated by South Asians), I found a bag of the 'Chanachur' from this company in one of them and bought a bag out of curiosity. It was tasty, but despite the 'sweet' label, it was actually really spicy, and on the back of the bag it says 'For Sale In Bangladesh Only.' I hope I'm not committing a crime.
but despite the 'sweet' label, it was actually really spicy
That sounds about correct, we Indians love our spicy foods, so much so that even our sweets need to have them. And thanks for that link, Jon--I'm going to be seeing that for the rest of the day--try the Spring Roll and Samosa pastry. My mom made it the other day, and it was perfect.
Another suggestion, go for the: Bombay Mix, I think it'll be good, hopefully. And you'll have a drink close by to wash it down if you need to.:)
Hugh, I think that the 12 items that they're describing are the 12 different types of "Chana" (gram) / Saing (peanuts) a type of Indian dish that they've used in preparing the "Chana"chur (mixture).
