Three-point Tuesday update. →[More:]1. I love it when doctors lecture you completely by rote, without any context whatsoever. Went to the dermatologist today because the medicine given for my acne last July hasn't worked at all. She did give me new medicine, but also said, your face cream might be a factor [I only use it in winter when it's dry, not a problem in July], and why don't you stop wearing sweaters since they can irritate your neck? [In February, in New England? I don't think so.]

2. My friend is lending me her viola!! Woo-hoo!!!!

3. I told my friend about my trip to the Salem Witch museum, which led to a discussion of the word "cheesy". We decided that the word cheesy is NOT equal to the word bad.

1. Had a lot of tea this morning with very little breakfast. CaffeinemaybeaffectingmeIcan'ttellforsure.

2. Downloaded this little app for my G1 yesterday, and am completely mesmerized by it. I want to walk around downtown this afternoon for a while to play with it.

3. The cats are not getting along at ALL for the last few days, which is causing stress, especially for me and for the older, smaller cat.

1. Editing the neighborhood newsletter means being the adverting salesperson too which I hate. We don't go looking for advertisers since we're just trying to cover costs but if someone contacts us, we'll sell them part of a page in the gazette. It's taken two weeks of emails and phone calls to negotiate a stupid $40 ad in a publication with a circulation of 250.

2. In my second week of work and they haven't fired me yet.

3. Just found out yesterday that an ex-coworker and friend passed away over the weekend. He was under fifty and as far as I know didn't have any health issues. Sad and scary.

1. I have an interview for the job they 'lost' my application for next week.

2. Man Utd vs Inter Milan on TV tonight followed by Real Housewives x 2 (NY and OC). I am in heaven.

3. Pancakes for dinner. Doesn't get much better than that for a drizzly Tuesday in February.

1. Have been sick as the proverbial dog and in bed for last four days. Now am at work.

2. Feel WEIRD. Wonder if the pharmacist slipped mescaline into my antibiotic. Similar effects. Slight tremors. Interplanetary attitude. Head larger than room. You know, the usual.

3. Just put a photo of my daughter and my dog on my work website. Why? Why not? Maybe it's the mescaline talking but it seems to make sense.

1. Deep into making a mix for tonight's show on WSCAfm.org. Finally got the green light from my friend and trainer at the station for my keys to the kingdom. Soon, Sunday mornings will be mine, all mine! Stay tuned.

2. Going over to the station later this afternoon to take over as music label liaison for us. This means big-time exposure to all sorts of good and bad music from everywhere.

3. Very happy that this is all happening finally.

1. Ate a good lunch: Spaetzle with mushrooms and truffle oil that I made with Gregnog last night, along with a salad of spinach and cherry tomatoes.

2. I hired my friend J who is a fellow editor who's been recently laid off and she's coming in for her first half-day today!

3. Looking forward to a friend's birthday party/guacamole-making contest tomorrow evening.

1. It's Fat Tuesday! PANCAKE SUPPER TONIGHT AT CHURCH!! YAAAAY I LOVE TO EAT! I'm planning to go to the gym afterwards, although that may not be realistic, heh.
2. Been watching "Square Pegs" on DVD- it's really cute!
3. Took Twinkie for a nail trim today. As usual, the Vet tech takes her away thinking she's cute and brings her back knowing she's an evil, snarling beast.

1. Babby-sitting tonight for a friend's spawn. The little one is just under a year, and cute as hell. The older one has discovered the joys of Hello Kitty Uno. I expect her to kick my ass again tonight. She took me seven games straight last time, and she felt like a stud.
2. Feeling a bit on the sick side, like Mygothlaundry, I feel like somebody slipped me something, but I haven't taken anything. My husband feels the same way, maybe there is something in the air over NC today?
3. Going to look at ANOTHER house this afternoon, although I have already picked out the one I want. I am suspecting that the one we are going to see is too good to be true.

1. The illnesses I've heard described here over the past few days sound a lot like what I had a week or so ago, which makes me feel better about it, because it was just weird. No really awful cold symptoms, just extreme fatigue and aches and very heavy limbs. It finally went mostly away, but today I feel like the cold stuff is coming on. Please no more.

2. I started a sourdough starter from scratch last week (i.e., tried to attract wild yeast instead of using packaged yeast) and it's finally starting to smell like sourdough starter! And it doesn't have pink stuff growing on it, so that's very exciting. Can hopefully make some bread this weekend.

3. Am very much looking forward to payday. This is the nth month that I've been down to pennies by the time the last five days of the month come around, and I'm really sick of it. Need to figure out a better system, but that requires thinking about money, and that makes me anxious, so I'm just going to crawl back under the hypothetical covers now.

3+: There are two really cute, really sweet little kittens who will soon join me under the hypothetical covers. They're turning into little lovebugs and I'm very pleased. They're rambunctious, yes, but not rife with the social problems that my other cats have had. Very grateful for that.

mudpuppie - recipe and instructions please

This is the recipe I'm using. I got about 1/4 cup of wheat berries from the bulk section of the grocery store and ground them in the coffee grinder. (Ground up a bunch of rice first to get rid of the coffee.) I also used pineapple juice that I had in the freezer, leftover from marinating something sometime. I was kind of worried long about day 3, because the whole mixture smelled like pineapple juice. But after adding white flour on day 4 (though I think it was actually the morning of day 5, 'cause I forgot), it started smelling like I hoped it would.

Dersins, the little ones are so cute! I have a Buff Orp too, and she's very docile and calm. A little slower than the others, but very sweet.

If you haven't yet, check out the forums at BackyardChickens.com. The typos, grammatical missteps and emoticons can get a little overwhelming at times, but there's lots of good advice there.

Oh yeah, 4: I had to enlist crazy bird lady next door to help me trim the little red chicken's wings this weekend. Found her on the fence, twice, debating whether to foray into the school yard. She has now been divorced from her vertical lift. I hope.

1. Back from vet $240 poorer

2. It's crystals in Mingo's urine (again) so we'll have to feed him (SD cat food) separately from the other three for six weeks

3. All the cats will have to be switched over to CD cat food* because feeding one cat separately from the other three is a pain in the arse

*Tried feeding them all Natural Balance which is low in magnesium but I guess it's something in the CD formula which helps crystals to not form even though it's crap quality. So much for trying to do the right thing and feed good food to the beasties.

ALL TOO MUCH CUTENESS FOR ME.

I'm particularly susceptible to Kitties, so they've won me over completely, but the chicks are super dooper cute too.

1. I have a week off in 7.5 working days time. Not that I'm counting. I'm going to stay at the grand beach of Altona*. I'm planning on reading a lot, doing my nails, sewing, and having a grand old time alone.

2. I went to a couple of really good parties on the weekend, met lots of new people and really got out there. I'm kinda proud of myself. Especially since the second party was with people I made friends with at the first party.

3. Er... I'm addicted to this song at the moment. It breaks my heart.

*For those non-familiar with Altona - ie 99.9% of you, Altona is NOT glamorous.

1. I went on a date tonight. With a boy. And it wasn't completely weird or evil or strange or anything.
...
I'm not sure how I feel about this yet.

2. My epic film project is almost done at work. I've got another 5 segments or so to finish processing and then up on the shelves it goes! And then comes the updating of the map, which always kills a day.

3. I got an epic tax refund ($400+ than I was expecting) and so now I don't feel so bad about recently spending a SHITLOAD on clothes. Although, maybe if I'm going to actually start...going out more, clothes are a bonus?

I don't know. I think I need to go write in my paper journal or LJ for a while.

1.Do not quite know what I'm doing in Indiana.
2. It's the Lincoln bicentennial and at least one of the historic sites is closed until March. Huh?
3.Was able to find that day's copy of the NY times everywhere I went in VA last year (including Rabbi Joshualand), but the only edition I could find at the big box chains and Starbucks in Evansville, IN was the Sunday.
