What does sex smell like? In a few books and movies, I hear characters (often disapproving mothers), saying, "You smell like sex".

What is the exact nature of the smell being referred to?

Remember that musky scent that always seemed to cling to your parents' bedroom? That is the smell of old sex. Fresh sex is similar, though to me, not as pungent with undertones of citrus and sea water.

After fresh lesbian sex, those undertones are more distinct, while fresh gay men's sex (that doesn't include anal) has a stronger sweat component.
