Within months, Barack Obama has declared a war on vague unease. [More:] I have no idea what the source of this might be (it appears to be posted in a thread dedicated to reposting comments from elsewhere on the internets), but it is fucking awesome.
I have a War on Ennui.

But... it's not true.

It's more a question of the economy taking up more of the news time. But if you listen to the news out of the war zones, it's frankly not that good, especially Afghanistan.

By the way there's a tinge of beauty to the writer's imagination.. Obama turning into an Oak tree who's gonna carry them to the moon while satellites crash into the earth? That's kinda deep.

you'd be vaguely uneasy if a drunk Harry Hilsson was at the top of your page, too.

This is probably from that Barack Obama fanfiction that was posted to Metafilter some time back. It was a sort of post-apocalyptic tall-tales landscape based on larger than life political figures. I think Ron Paul had an airship.

Reading it again, it doesn't look like it's from the same story, but maybe the same author.

Okay, I will admit I read the first few paragraphs and that was it.
