Tomorrow is a very special birthday (at least to me) →[More:]
Tomorrow (2/12) is Charles Darwin's 200th birthday. My lab has decided to party instead of having the usual lab meeting. We plan to nerd out with an evolution themed haiku contest while drinking cane rum.

I am baking a delicious flourless chocolate cake (with Scharffenberger 70% dark chocolate and almond flour). My kitchen smells terrific.

Whoa, that's a weird image. I get the setting (riverboat) and some of the characters (gambler/cheat, and Linda as showgirl). But what's with the Inuit man? And why is Paul wearing a clownlike smock? I'm confused.

Miko: I'm not sure either (unless it's some kind of visual pun of the casino slang of 'whale' meaning 'high roller," which would be a long shot, but who knows?) I'm not sure what the seal is all about, either. I just wanted a picture of "Paul McCartney & Wings" that wouldn't confuse the young'uns, and that's the first that came up on Google Image Search with a clear label.

whoa, I didn't even see the seal. It was like the classic item that's so weird your mind just edits it out - like the guy in the gorilla suit in that black-and-white video. Or, to continue my Hitchhiker's Guide theme of the day, like something surrounded by an SEP field.
