I'm sick and alone in Vietnam. Waaaaaah! →[More:]Well, that's not completely true, I have great friends to take care of me and the French hospital is a 15 minute walk from my apartment. I just know that it's a virus and need to let it run it's course. oping that tea and apple sauce stay down and I become healthy again.

Oh, no. At least you're in the land of great soup! And I can assure you, you don't want to be in Ottawa right now, anyway. As of yesterday it was officially Really Goddamned Cold, and the buses still aren't back on the road.

Ironically it was pho ga (chicken noodle soup) which caused the suspected food poisoning. My landlady made me choa (congee) to assist with healing me back to health!

I just spoke to my parents in Ottawa, and man am I ever glad to be here and not there. Between the weather and just over bus strike, it's sounding miserable. Come visit me here instead! :-D

I remember being sick in Indonesia and finding little rehydration salt/Emergen-C-type things really helpful. You can also make your own - easy recipe here.
