Holy Sh--!! 56-year-old becomes 1st woman to swim Atlantic
Yah thanks for making me feel like the laziest person on earth, lady. I can't even get to the gym and I'm not 56.

Figge woke most days around 7 a.m., eating pasta and baked potatoes while she and the crew assessed the weather. Her longest stint in the water was about eight hours

I, meanwhile, am happy to sit on my fat lazy ares and call her a cheat. Cheat!

I'm impressed.

I am good at the starch-eating part, not as good at swimming across the Atlantic.

Impressed that they're using a sailboat. Wonder about the boat specs.

...50-foot catamaran, aptly named Carried Away, is being customized for its maiden trans-Atlantic journey. The sailboat will be motoring much of the way, so 700 extra gallons of fuel will be on board. Ray also helped construct the 20-by-13-foot shark cage that Figge will swim in. Miami Herald story

There's some pics of the setup on Figge's facebook page.

Thanks, but I mean deck plan, rig, make, staffing plan, etc. Can't find that boat-geek stuff - wish they had a real website!

Don't worry about it, dabitch. Do what I do and assume people that do this sort of thing have OCD.

Some days I sit at my table sewing for like half an hour and then walk away, thinking "Okay, that's it -- I've accomplished enough for today."

Sigh.

I'm sure everyone here can do something that others might only dream of doing.

Dude, she's from Colorado. Those people take "health nut" to the next level and beyond.
