OMG it's pizza night I'm so excited! What you gonna eat?
Hmmm, I'm not sure. I have some boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I'll probably make some kind of marinade for them, and then cook them on a hot griddle. I'll eat them over salad (with Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, of course).

In the freezer is some snow ice cream, which I made by mixing snow, Greek yoghurt and raspberry jam. It's unbelievably yummy. It took far more snow than I realised though, because it gets sort of beaten down into the other ingredients.

Could I have your recipe for pizza dough, Specklet?

Snow ice cream! You're so cool.

Pizza dough:

Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon quick yeast (about 12 grams)
- 1 teaspoon honey (or sugar)
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups white flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt

To cook:
- Combine yeast, honey, and warm water. Put in a warm place for ten minutes or until foamy on top.
- Add oil and stir, then add flour, salt and mix. The dough should be fairly sticky, so add the last cup of flour gradually and stop if it’s enough.
- Knead dough for five or ten minutes until nice and smooth and elastic.
- Put in a well oiled bowl and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size. (If you have time, let it rise for an hour.)
- Punch down, cut in half, roll each piece into a ball, then stretch/pat for pizza assembly.

Makes enough for two 12″ pizzas. You could freeze the dough and let it rise again when thawed.

Bake yer pizza in a hot oven, 425° or so, for fifteen minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

The dough also makes killer breadsticks: after rising, cut the dough into eight pieces, roll into 8″ pieces, let rise again for 30 minutes, bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes, and smear with melted butter and garlic.

It's important to note that the garlic butter should contain so much garlic as to appear green. Only then is it strong enough.

He speaketh the truth. You will be getting a big garlicky smooch later, m'boy!

Do you bake it on a stone or on a metal tray. I have a large clay tile which I use to bake things on sometimes. I also have a metal 'pizza pan', and an ovenproof round glass tray (from a dead microwave oven). Which would you say was best to bake the pizza on?

Lunch right now is an Elvis special - PB, banana and honey sammich. It's granary bread, organic PB, fairtrade banana and orange blossom honey, so it counts as health food.

I use a metal tray, but if I had a tile I'd use that.

You need to add bacon to that sandwich.

As long as it's bacon cut from a happy pig in the prime of health with a top-notch dental plan and quality life insurance benefits for the piglets.

Tonight: lamb chops, steamed potatoes and carrot, asparagus if I haven't left it in the fridge too long.

Breakfast was a small ham sandwich. Lunch was a Slimfast Chocolate Crunch Meal Replacement Bar.

Well, I'm just reaping the bitter harvest of my self-indulgence. I certainly enjoyed the process of putting on 7 pounds over the holidays, but unfortunately I now have to remove them...

Lunch is/was an upscale version of grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Pizza night here too.

It's chicken nugget night for the kids, with dad. I'll get a spicy chicken sammich, and maybe for fun a baked potato.

Food rut? Me?

Though lately I've been experimenting with hummus. I made a great batch with canned beans, then tried cooking my own. First was too chunky, but made with roasted garlic, was YUMMY. I had to fight Older Boy off so I could eat.

Second batch was better - the beans cooked all the way through, but I killed my lil food procecsor with the last batch, and then added too much olive oil. But hey, it's all good with some tortilla chips and beer.

Oh god, that was so good. Orgasmically good. I made one with chorizo and onions and red bell pepper and fresh mozzarella, and the other one with goat's cheese, homemade marinated garlic 'n' olives. Nice peppery red wine to go with.

OMG it's pizza night at my house too! Whee!

My favorite pizza is canadian bacon, kalamata olives, and goat cheese. the BF just likes pepperoni.

Thank you thank you thank you, Specklet! Thanks to you, instead of having some slapped-together sandwich or an omelet, I made a quasi-pizza (a quasizza?) of leftover olive-oil/egg dough smeared with pesto and piled high with brocolli and cheese. Fantastic!

Now I'm eating it, drinking cranberry juice mixed with ginger ale, and watching Boogie Nights. A perfect evening.
