I never feel sad when my cat Dune presses his little head up against the bars of his carrier, because it's usually when we're on a streetcar on the way to the vet and he's serenading everyone with these never-ending poor-me howls. Everyone on the streetcar looks at us like we're terrible people (or terribly funny).
(We're terribly funny. He's a terribly funny little shit.)
