Something I made for my dog that you might want to eat. [More:] I had some oven roasted yam that has been a part of her food mix this week (chicken, green beans, and yam), and this morning I was out of chicken, so I mixed a couple hefty dollops of the yam with a couple hefty dollops of yogurt (which she adores) for her breakfast... and of course I had to taste it. Wowee, that is some good. She's lucky I didn't gobble it all up myself.
She inhaled it! two dewclaws up!
Mmmmmm. Lucky poochie!

That does sound good. Almost dessert-like (if the roasted yam got all sweet and yummy)

Was it an orange yam or a white yam? I need to know before I eat it thanks.

I have never seen a white yam. I take it they taste quite different to orange ones?

The taste is pretty similar. It's mostly a texture thing. I find the white ones starchier and stringier. I much prefer the orange ones (which we commonly and erroneously call 'sweet potatoes').

Ah. You know, I often find texture to be the dealbreaker in a food. I can eat something that has a taste I don't love, but I can't eat something with a less pleasant texture.
