Halp, my dog was sprayed by a skunk! He probably thought it was his beloved black and white kitty, but it wasn't. [More:]The stench is unbelievable. I googled and the recommended remedy is 3% H2O2, baking soda & Dawn, but it comes with a warning that it will bleach him orange (he's a black lab) and I can't put it near his face because it will burn his eyes (so he'll be an orange lab with a black smelly head). Halp!
Try tomato juice and/or beer. Old school skunk remedies.

I hate to say this, jamaro, but pretty much the only reliable cure is time. But tomato juice should cut the smell down significantly.

Try gin.

I mean, drink it until you don't notice the skunk smell anymore.

Then if you want you can mess around with all the various hilarious folk cures.

Whoops, aaack, my eyes, must have gotten some in there, I missed your recipe, completely./

I don't think it'll turn the dogue a blonde, you aren't leaving it on the dog. Apply and rinse. A further application may be necessary.

—Use a sponge to clean off his head and around his eyes.
—Apply a drop of olive or baby oil to his eyes to prevent irritation.

Add my sympathies, too, but from a great distance. I don't envy you.

Here's something: Nature's Miracle Skunk Odor Remover.

Taz, that product worked great on SOs skunk-imbued clothing and car (the dog jumped into his car before he realized Bad Things Had Happened) and so-so on the dog, who took a direct hit on the chest. We're going to try to reapply it again tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation!
