Just back from the sawbones, and he says that my gam is healing well, but that I'll still be on the disabled list till Feb. 5. *gibbers, sings 200 choruses of 'Hello Walls'*

Heh. Still in the cast, can't lift heavy loads, but can get sit around drinking, looking at dirty pictures and acquiring music through compltely legal means DL, I guess. The doctor did tell me that my quitting smoking had helped the healing process quite a bit. It's been a week and 4 days and according to my quit meter, I've saved $140. Go me.

The Steelers have to make it past the Ravens first, and we are spoiling for a rematch. It's pretty hard to beat a team 3 times in a season...

I could live with Baltimore winning. Just not Philly or Arizona. I have an irrational dislike for both teams.

Steelers - Eagles would be a good intra-state matchup.
And if the Ravens win we're guaranteed to get an all bird Superbowl (the first?).

Maybe I'll manage to hobble down to my beloved Remote for the Super Bowl party (they usually have a $30 all you can eat and drink from kickoff to final whistle special) if I can find an escort. Any takers?

All 3 of my teams lost last Sunday. (Giants, Chargers, UNC) Can't stand the Eagles. Don't love the Steelers, but I'd rather have them than the Eagles. Go Ravens.

Is it just me or is Baltimore-Pittsburgh likely to be a more interesting game than whatever the alleged main event turns out to be?

I'd actually agree there, wolfdog. I have a lot of love for Baltimore and Baltimorons, but as someone who was a kid in the 1970's I gotta go with the Steelers.

The Steelers were my team as a kid (in the 70's as jonmc said). Later I went to school in Windsor, Ontario, where I was inundated with Detroit media and became a Lions Fan (Barry Sanders days, so understandable). I finally gave up on the Lions about 5 games into this season, and decided to temporarily - for this season only - cheer for Pittsburgh again (they're also my 11 yr old son's favorite team) before choosing a new official favorite NFL team.
Turned out to be a good choice.
