Yeh, it snowed for about 30 minutes. Liquid stuff now. He couldn't figure out what was falling on his back, or where it went when it melted on the ground.
My labs used to love the snow. They'd lunge through it and then shove their noses into it and make like a snow plow. When it gets cold like this and the snow falls, I miss my dogs more than any other time. Even when they got so old they did not really run anymore, they would leap through the snow like puppies.
One morning last winter, I was riding the bus to work and I passed this woman in a beautiful spotless coat, with a posh little hat perched on beautifully coiffed hair. She had, apparently, been walking her lab, but was now just standing on the corner, shaking her head in resignation as he rolled around like an idiot in a huge snow bank on the corner.
Otto's a beautiful young dog (and he's got almost exactly the same colour as Barney, even the ears). We've had some quite bad storms here and all the creeks are in full flow. It's really hard to keep him from diving in. I doubt he'll ever see snow though.
