I saw this Life Magazine picture on Jezebel, and I'm obsessed with it.→[More:]I kind of want to be best friends with these ladies.
I love seeing pics of women in that era wearing pants. There's always this devil may care "so what are you going to do about it" feeling to them. I've got a pic of my grandmother from 45 or 46 wearing a pair of my granddad's blue jeans. The expression on her face is totally "ha, try and stop me!"
My cousin's daughter has been driving Army gas tankers in Iraq and Afghanistan for three years total. She is now a sergeant. She looks like a young Christee Brinkley and is the current prise of the family.

I love old photographs so much. They have a quality that all the studied self-portraiture of the Myspace world just lacks.
This is sort of the opposite spectrum from the women truckers, but I got really into Ziegfeld girls a few years ago. I have a tonne of them on my hard drive. I like this the best.
