I've had good luck with Nyquil when I really just need the sleep. I don't know whether it's the drugs in it, or the fact that it's basically a shot of 60 proof alcohol, but it really helps me when I'm that sick.

It really does knock a person flat, though, so don't take it 'til it's definitely bedtime!

I use-ta love love love Alka-Seltzer Cold and Sinus. But then they changed the formula, it's not as good now.

Nyquil and failing that, a Hot Toddy. I lived on hot toddies for two weeks when I got my last big cold.

Given that it took me most of the day to wake up (that and being totally demoralized by my boss after one of the big fuckups of my career), I'm going NyQuil. Get store brand, though, it's the same, even tastes the same and it's cheaper.

With one of those vics hockey pucks.
A lot of times when I'm coughing it's because of congestion- I lay down and that gross drip makes me cough. clearing the congestion may help.

ooh, you are sneezing, not coughing. In that case vics for sure. It gives you that total screen door face feeling.

Also try eucalyptus oil on a hankie or something - I find it soothes that back-of-the-nose itch that has you looking at the bottle-brush in the sink and wondering....will it fit????

In any case, much sympathy to you - you poor dear!
