Lie through your teeth just to stay in the race [divshare] - yeah, the title's out of date now but the sentiment's apropos as ever.

Who is that? At first it sounded like Bad Religion, but now I can tell it's not.

Oh, yeah, the mp3's tagged if you download it but that doesn't show up in divshare. It's Souls at Zero, who were formerly Wrathchild America. The Wrathchild America stuff tended to be more progressive musically with a lot of jazz and classical vocabulary to spice things up and pretty interesting lyrics most of the time (also a lot of humor). The name change pretty much corresponded to a more stripped-down approach to all of that with most of the humor out the window.

I actually thought this was going to be a parody of '90s music styles, it sounded so generic at first. But then...it wasn't.
