Nick and Nora. . .Spoilers! I loved this movie. . .some random thoughts.[More:]

This is Michael Cera's apogee, above the shark, with this character he always plays. It will start getting old after this.

I was also wondering if the world as depicted in the movie is exactly like the real world, in which a bunch of teenagers from Jersey cross the river into Manhattan and cavort, meet up, go separate ways, meet up again somehow (Manhattan is big!), all in pursuit of a maybe-maybenot concert from a "phantom" band, with an ever-changing venue.

I also wondered whether the daughter of the rich and famous recording studio owner would live in New Jersey, really.

But I liked the movie. . .really did.
It looks really cute! And Jonathan B. Wright is from the original cast of Broadway's Spring Awakening, which is nice to see.

We're going to see it tonight. I expect us to be the oldest couple in the theater.

Well, The Thin Man is the best, and After the Thin Man is also pretty good, but they get kind of middling after that.

What?

Hee! I had the same thought.

Dude - I'm so sick of Michael Cera and his witless doophus act. I hated Juno for this reason. Among others.

Do you remember a guy named Wiley Wiggins, who appeared in a ton of Richard Linklater movies?

Michael Cera is like the new Wiley Wiggins.

Feh. I'll pass on this one.

We saw it. Hooray! Much makeouts ensued! We still have a few years* left. Well, a few years between us. As in, total.

As predicted, it did totally make me nostalgic for those awkward and aimless nights spent wandering around NYC. Of course, none of my nights were ever as epic or memorable (though they did have their moments**).

** Her: I'm not making fun of you. I just met you! I only make fun of people I know.
(later) *she makes joke at my expense*
Me: (holding door for her at the PABT) I guess you know me well enough, now? *smirk*
Her: *returning the smirk* ...I like you.

Michael Cera was on Fresh Air a couple of days ago, and by the end of the interview the partner and I were calling him "helium voice." I can't imagine seeing a whole movie with him in it. (We'd never heard of him before that.)

!

I share a birthday with Kat Dennings (and the Olsen twins, yuck!). So I have an icebreaker if we ever meet.
