Well, compared to a lot of Republicans, he can seem downright reasonable. But he's helped turn Manhattan into an offshore boutique, rather than a city. I won't romanticize the Taxi Driver bad old days of 1970's Manhattan like some will, but what's replaced it kind of sucks, too.

But when it comes to financial issues, he's obviously more knowledgable than most, to be sure.

Yeah, I figured the Bloomberg experience must be different up close.

He just seemed so smart and reasonable (though I think the last 8 years have made all signs of intelligence *pop*).

I really like Michael Bloomberg (also, Bloomberg terminals give my internal finance-nerd a hard-on).

Bloomberg is spending so much time and money involving himself with national causes that I think it's only a matter of time before something big comes from it. I sort of expected him to get involved in the Presidential race. I'm not sure what to expect now--maybe he and Schwarzenegger are trying to start a 3rd party.

I was interested to see his name come up in this article on efforts to rebuild US infrastructure. He and Schwarzenegger are working on the issue through this group.

Yup, jonmc, am with you on that. Bloomberg, too corporate and soulless big business imo.

But he took NYC out of the financial pits and the USA could do with that now.
