McCain's Wandering Eyes Funny, if perhaps a bit unfair to the man. (But seriously—what the heck is he staring at?)
octothorpe: He's fingering his wedding ring to remind himself of the fact that his wife Cindy is young and hot (albeit overly tan and surgically modified) and, more importantly, very very very rich.
All the while thinking, "Dude. If I win this election, this former beauty queen will be living right next door. YEAH."
Just seems like a nervous habit to me, I wouldn't read too much into it. I fiddle with my ring all the time; I only realize how much I do when I'm not wearing it and I reach for it and it's not there.
McCain, the callow gold-digging womanizer, is surely just ogling her cue cards. His wedding ring keeps reminding him of a dirt box in Vietnam. He seems to think nobody's watching. I hope he's right.
He keeps fiddling with his wedding ring while he's eying her up, kind of creepy.
I fiddle with my wedding ring constantly. By all accounts, I'm considering having sex with my stapler, gmail, and the lunch menu at Qdoba.
The interesting question is whether this is an established casual nervous habit for McCain, or if it's only a super-high-stress-level tic for him, or if this is even in fact the first documented evidence of it.
