Scrabulous was shut down last night in the US and Canada. What else is Facebook good for?→[More:]And I was just starting to get decent at the game, too--I was one move away from winning the game that would have given me a 1400 rating.

Granted, it looks like Hasbro has a case, but still.

That's too bad, I know a lot of people who really enjoyed it. I'm not one of those people, though; the more I played, the worse I got :-P

Does Yahoo! still have Literati? Their Scrabble analogue was fine, for an internet Scrabbling fix. Nothing like getting your pants handed to you by a cute Finnish chick for whom English is her third or fourth language. Rawr!

As for other Facebook apps, a friend of mine on Facebook is playing WordTwist. Don't know what it is, but it sounds promising.

I'm pretty sure I used to play Scrabulous but not through Facebook. I also used to play Scrabble on Atari, but it looks like it's been pulled as well.

I've reconnected with some people,including some I wasn't sure even wanted to hear from me, and have made one surprisingly deep friendship with someone who was only a friendly acquaintance in the past.

I still haven't really figured much to do with Facebook a year or so. Out of my whole 11 friends only two of them ever make any updates so I log in every week or so and see that nothing has changed and then I log out. Other than being a gloried way of sending someone email, I don't really get the point. What magic am I missing here?
