In my work career, I only needed to interview to get a job twice. All the five others over 28 years I went in as a temp and got offered a permanent job based on my performance (and twice it wasn't even the same job). I'm proud of that.

(Oh, and the two I did interview for were the two WORST I ever had.)

The year that I was graduating from my undergraduate program I interviewed for almost every company that the placement office brought in to interview CS students. I must have done 20 - 25 job interviews over six months. I only ended up getting three or four job offers but the one I did take was a very cool job that I loved (until we got bought out). Ironically, one of the companies that didn't give me a job offer was the one that I'd been interning at for two years, doing database programming for them for $8/hour. Bastards.

Congrats! I've been lucky enough (and maybe talented enough) to be offered a couple jobs in my time, without even knowing there was a position open. I've only ever interviewed for one that I didn't get, and it was way over my head. It was about 10 years ago, and I'm not sure I'd be ready for it today!

New jobs can be great and scary at the same time, I'm sure your's will be mainly great rhapsodie!
