Pluribo A pretty cool Firefox extension a friend of mine developed. It creates instant plain-English summaries from the reviews in Amazon electronics items.
Whoa, that's REALLY clever.

I don't understand why you get the "Pluribo is automatically scanning all the reviews: ..." line though. Surely the review data and generated summary is stored on Pluribo servers. The web site gives the impression that the algorithm doesn't run in real time - rather they crawl Amazon on a weekly basis. What's the animation for?

As far as I know, you are right. I think the animation is what it displays as it is loading the pre-computed data. I've e-mailed Samidh for a better explanation.
