Designers, how much should I be charging for a website design? High profile and slick, not a lot of dynamic content required. To be built in PHP, javascript, CSS and html. UK.
As much as you can get away with?

Sorry, I just wanted to give you a sympathy comment ;-)

how long is a string?
Depends on the string type. Those pascal style strings are up to 255 characters. If it's null terminated, then the max length of it depends on your memory space.

BTGOG, I recently finished a small css/html site, 12ish pages, one photo gallery. There was a logo in there and lots 'o PayPal buttons, too. I recieved $450 for it. I should say I also fix the issues the site owner continues to create by updating the site herself.

I don't know if what i charged is even resonable. When asked I just took a shot in the dark.

How many hours do you expect to work on the project? Will you be paid a flat rate or hourly? Is this a project you want to do, either because it is interesting or because it will look good on your portfolio? You say the pages are primarily static, but that php will be involved ... so how much programming is involved? Are you responsible for all the images, in addition to the CSS and HTML? Is Flash or javascript needed? It's "high profile and slick" ... does that mean the organization has a fairly large (overall annaual) budget? How many different screens will you be delivering?

Really, though, dg has it. Charge as much as you can. You might be able to find a comparable project on rent-a-coder that will give an idea of (the low-end of) the market rate.
