The People's Court on SNL. My favorite SNL sketch of all time. "I am a barfly..." Vonda Braithwaite vs. Mephistopheles.
This is funny. What is the "barfly's" name? I always liked her.

Vonda was Rosanna Arquette (!) and mom/barfly was Jan Hooks. Transcript

I liked the ending ("Just a sec ... OBEY ME!") but despite the presence of Phil and Jon (and even Kevin) this just seemed typical of SNL dragging out a concept but not actually making it funny. Sorry.

(Gawd, remember those "Judge Wapner for Supreme Court" bumper stickers?)

I have a belief that there were no "good old days" for SNL. Even at the start with Radner, Ackroyd, Belushi, etc, only about one in four pieces is funny. But when they are they are really funny. If anything, it is more even than ever.

GOD I hate Hulu and their stream only to US policy. Must learn not to click those links.

Yeah, I encountered the same problem of course.
There's a workaround using Hotspot Shield. Up to a certain limit of MB per month it's a free service.
I didn't bother for this though.
